But as the Asian markets opened, momentum faded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nasdaq drifted lower, stopping out the long and flipping us into a fresh <strong>short<\/strong>. Around midnight, that short absolutely paid off unrealized gains swelled to <strong>over 150 dollars<\/strong>. But right before midnight, the market turned back up. Our short closed for a solid <strong>135-dollar profit<\/strong>, and the robot flipped long again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morning Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Europe opened, the market dipped and our long got stopped out.<br>At <strong>7:00 AM<\/strong>, MBA mortgage applications came in <strong>down 5.2%<\/strong>. Then at <strong>8:30 AM<\/strong>, data rolled in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trade Balance: <strong>\u201359.6 billion<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a major improvement from <strong>\u201378.2 billion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30-Year Mortgage Rate: <strong>6.37%<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>slightly above the previous <strong>6.34%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>9:30 AM<\/strong>, U.S. cash markets opened. Google broke above <strong>300 dollars<\/strong>, pushing Nasdaq up to <strong>24,950<\/strong>. Our long closed for a small win bringing realized profit to <strong>159 dollars<\/strong>. Nasdaq tried to push through <strong>25,000<\/strong>, but couldn\u2019t quite make it. By <strong>10:30 AM<\/strong>, momentum faded and sellers stepped in. Our robot caught a quick short, pushing total realized profit to <strong>210 dollars<\/strong>, then executed a few more small trades. Before noon, we were up <strong>265 dollars<\/strong>, though our AMD trade was dragging <strong>60-dollar net loss<\/strong> on that name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Afternoon Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The afternoon was quiet as traders waited for the <strong>FOMC minutes<\/strong>. One long trade got stopped for a small loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then <strong>2:00 PM<\/strong> hit. The minutes showed that <strong>a December rate cut was <em>not<\/em> decided<\/strong>. Volatility exploded. Price spiked up, down, back up again. Our robot took a couple small losses, sliding realized profit down to <strong>170 dollars<\/strong>. And before the close, another long stopped out, bringing the day\u2019s realized profit to <strong>110 dollars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nvidia earnings dropped and they <strong>beat expectations 57 billion <\/strong>beating expectations of <strong>54.8 billion<\/strong>, The stock whipped around aggressively. Nasdaq jumped along with it, then cooled off shortly after. Once the volatility settled,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the market calmed and our trading day officially wrapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was another choppy, rate-sensitive session, classic FOMC day energy.
